What a hotel website in Gangtok costs — and what you get for it

Most hotel owners in Sikkim ask the same first question: what will it cost? Here is what actually drives the price, and what you should get for it.

It is the first question every hotel owner asks, and the honest answer is that it depends on what the site has to do. A brochure site and a booking system are different jobs, and pricing them the same way would be dishonest. Here is what actually drives the cost.

Three levels of hotel website

1. The brochure site. Rooms, photographs, location, contact details and a map. Its job is to look credible when someone searches your hotel’s name, and to make it easy to get in touch. This is the smallest sensible project.

2. The site that takes enquiries properly. Everything above, plus an enquiry form that reaches you reliably, a guide to the area, your tariff structure, and the ability to update rooms and photographs yourself without calling a developer.

3. The site that takes bookings. Everything above, plus live availability, payments, confirmations, and connections to the booking channels you already use so that a room booked on your site does not get sold twice.

What pushes the cost up

  • Photography. A good hotel site is mostly photographs. If they are not good, no amount of design work will save it.
  • How many rooms, rates and seasons you need to manage, and how often they change.
  • Payments. Taking money online means payment gateway setup, refunds and reconciliation — real work, and worth doing properly.
  • Integrations. OTA and channel-manager connections are where most of the complexity lives.
  • Content. If you need help writing it, that is time, and it is usually time well spent.

The costs that continue after launch

  • Domain and hosting, renewing every year.
  • Maintenance — updates, backups, security, and someone to call when something breaks.
  • Change. New rooms, new rates, new photographs. A site that is easy for your team to update costs less every year after launch.

What to ask before you pay anyone

  • Is this a fixed price, and what is included in it?
  • Who owns the domain, the hosting account and the design when we finish?
  • How do I update rooms and rates myself?
  • What happens if I need changes after launch — and what do they cost?
  • Can I see a site you built for another hotel?

We quote each project individually, because a twelve-room guest house in Ranipool and a fifty-room hotel in Gangtok are not the same job. If you tell us what you need, you will get a fixed price and a timeline before any work begins — and we will say so if something is not worth your money.

Tell us about your property and we will come back with a clear answer.
